At Aging in Place North Carolina, we go beyond the physical home by offering essential whole-family training, helping families better understand the evolving needs of their loved ones. This holistic approach ensures everyone involved is informed, prepared, and empowered to create a safer, more supportive living environment.

Our Philosophy: No one should have to leave their home because it no longer supports them.

This isn’t about aging. It’s about living better, longer, in the place you love most.

Common Questions About Getting Started

  • What exactly is an aging in place consultation?

A Safety & Comfort Home Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of your home’s safety and accessibility, designed to help older adults live independently with confidence. We identify fall risks, mobility challenges, and everyday obstacles, then provide thoughtful recommendations with solutions that are both practical and beautifully integrated—never institutional in appearance.

  • How much does a consultation cost?

We offer a free phone assessment for anyone interested in learning more about our services.

Our Home Safety & Comfort Assessment  is a paid consultation where we conduct a thorough evaluation of your home and provide a detailed report with prioritized recommendations.

This consultation is an investment in gaining clarity on the modifications that will have the greatest impact for your family, and it includes valuable aging in place training for both you and your loved ones. The assessment is typically one hour and is offered at a cost of $250.

  • Do you only serve adult children, or can aging adults contact you directly?

Both! We work directly with older adults who are proactively planning for their future, as well as with adult children who are caring for aging parents. We're experienced in navigating family dynamics and ensuring everyone's voice is heard in the planning process.

  • What areas do you serve in North Carolina?

Aging in Place North Carolina proudly serves the Triangle and Triad regions of North Carolina, including Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Wake Forest, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, and surrounding communities.

Our local expertise means we understand the unique characteristics of homes in this area and have in-house experts and established relationships with trusted contractors.

  • How is this different from a contractor giving us a quote?

Most contractors focus on completing projects you’ve already identified.

As Certified Aging in Place Specialists (CAPS), we take a more comprehensive and compassionate approach—evaluating your entire home with a deep understanding of how your needs and your family’s needs may evolve over time.

We take the time to listen, understand your concerns, and thoughtfully assess safety, accessibility, and long-term livability.

Our goal is not just to identify risks you may not have considered, but to provide guidance with care and clarity—prioritizing improvements based on what matters most to you, while recommending solutions that feel natural, comfortable, and aligned with your home’s style—before any construction begins.

Start with a Professional, Compassionate In-Home Assessment

We'll evaluate your home's accessibility with a Safety & Comfort Assessment, and provide you with a detailed plan tailored to your family's needs—with no pressure to move forward.
